What do we mean by pastured pork?
All Redtail, farm-raised pork lives out in the fresh air and sunshine, hormone and antibiotic free. These pigs are allowed to fully express their true nature, spending their lives rotationally rooting through forests and perennial pastures, and are finished on alfalfa, mixed grains and pasture.
Our quora of pigs are Berkshires, a prized English stock for over 300 years. This hardy breed is well adapted to the elements and renowned for its juiciness, flavour, and tenderness. This pastured pork is pink-hued and heavily marbled. All these elements come together leading to exceptional eating experience for our customers.

Orders are accepted all year, though we do not butcher until autumn.
Customers will be contacted a week before delivery with pick up location and time.
Choose between a whole, half or quarter of pork. All pork is seasonal, butchered in late November early December. Our pork is processed in a provincially inspected facility.
Please note all weights are average; actual product may vary.
A full pastured pork allows the customer to determine cuts and provisions. The cuts in a half order are listed below. A quarter will be a selection of some of the cuts of a half. We are unable to guarantee specific cuts in a quarter.
To guarantee our product and to help distribute payment for our customers we require a deposit to hold your order. This deposit is roughly 50% of your order total and the remainder of the cost will be billed to you after the meat is weighed.
Customers will be contacted a week before delivery with pick up location and time. Final payment is due upon delivery.

Pastured pigs are allowed to roam in natural areas and eat a rotational diet of foraged food, sweet alfalfa, and grain. We raise Berkshire pigs which are allowed to roam and graze, making for a better-tasting and more environmentally friendly product.
One of our most common questions is “can I just buy bacon”, and the answer is no. The minimum order for pork is a quarter cut.
